Investment Focus

The companies in pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors enjoy the advantages of a large scientific pool, low skill-to-cost ratio, growing per capita health care spending etc, which hold very good growth potential in the medium to long term.

In recent times many of the Indian pharma companies have been able to build on these advantages and make inroads into the lucrative generic market segments the world over, especially in United States. Companies like Dr. Reddy's and Ranbaxy have been able to get a 180-day marketing exclusivity for a few drugs after successfully completing there para IV filing. These developments and various deals announced on the R&D front augur well for the future of the sector.
