
Avinash (Avi) Satwalekar
President, Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) Pvt. Ltd
Avinash Satwalekar has been with Franklin Templeton for nearly 3 decades, holding leadership roles across multiple markets. As President of Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) Private Limited, he oversees the firm’s retail and institutional business in one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.
He is also on the boards of Franklin Templeton Asset Management Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) and Vietcombank Fund Management (VCBF), bringing his international experience to the table. Additionally, he is the board member of Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and chairs their Technology Committee too, contributing to digital advancements in India's asset management industry.
Over the years, he has taken on diverse leadership roles:
- • Malaysia: Served as Country Head & CEO, leading business expansion and operations.
- • Vietnam: As CEO & CIO, helped establish investment strategies and launched one of Vietnam’s first open-ended retail funds.
- • United States: Held roles as Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Research Analyst, specialising in small-cap equities and technology investments.
Mr. Satwalekar holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Bombay and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and an active member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco.
With deep industry experience and a global perspective, he continues to guide Franklin Templeton’s growth in India while supporting innovation in the broader asset management space.
