It’s All in the Mind !

A gentleman once saw that the elephants in the circus weren’t kept in barricades or held by chains.
All that was holding them back from escaping the camp was a small piece of rope tied to one of their legs.
The man thought why the elephants didn’t use their strength to break the rope and escape.
Curious to know, he asked the trainer why the elephants never tried to escape.
The trainer replied; “when they are young and much smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them and at that age, it’s enough to hold them.
As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away.
They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
Investing too is similar. If you believe in the market and all its phases, you can aim to create wealth.
The market has seen the worst times but each time it has bounced back.
Those who had conditioned their mind, continued to invest across all these phases while the rest lost returns as they were not fully invested.
Remember that success comes when we focus on the process (consistency and longevity of investments) not the results.
Most investors make the mistake of focusing on the results.
